I'm not an artist: Five items from Majora’s Mask you could find impounded in customs.

Five items from Majora’s Mask you could find impounded in customs.

Magic Bean: These magic beans grow into strong climbable beanstalks when they are planted in patches of soft soil and watered with spring water or the rains called down by Link playing the Song of Storms. Those waters must be quite potent since similar beans in Ocarina of Time take seven years to fully mature into beanstalks that could bear a hero’s weight. These beanstalks usually allow Link to access hidden areas containing a piece of heart or other valuable treasure.

Smugglers hide everything one could imagine inside of coffee casks. The strong aroma is supposed to hide the odor of any hidden contraband from the sensitive noses of the trained hounds. With the sheer volume of contraband laden coffee shipments coming into Port Brighton, a few are bound to be discovered and confiscated, coffee and all. The impound warehouse holds many exotic coffee shipments that are slated to be destroyed by “grinding and boiling” after the statutory holding period lapses.

Adult’s Wallet: Link can earn the Adult’s Wallet through the responsible adult behavior of depositing money into a savings account. He is given this larger wallet as a reward for having 200 rupees deposited in the Clock Tower Bank at once.

Gold coins minted in outlaw pirate towns are not an uncommon sight in ports that deal with traders who travel through the East Reach. In the past, these coins did not cause much of a stir as, but the newly appointed Port Brighton Master of Coin of has issued a harsh policy disallowing the use of foreign coin. Many believe the new Master of Coin only issued this policy after securing a monopoly on money changers through bribes, intimidation, and at least one untimely death.

Giant’s Wallet: If Link can find and slay the thirty golden skulltulas hiding throughout the haunted Oceanside manor, he is rewarded with the Giant’s Wallet which is able to hold up to five hundred rupees. The history of this manor remains shrouded in mystery. Interesting little details, like portraits of a maskless Skull Kid, leave the truth of the house open ended, allowing the player to have their own answers to these questions.

Official money changers are required to submit themselves and their daily ledgers to the Ministry of Coins, ensuring they are not under reporting the amount of coin entering Port Brighton from foreign lands. Where there are rules, there are always rule breakers. Any contraband, including illegal coins, is confiscated and held in a well-guarded warehouse that appears more like a fortress than a place to store goods.

Bomb Bag: Link must complete a truly harrowing ordeal to earn the bomb bag in Majora’s Mask. He has to buy it for no less than fifty entire rupees.

Explosive and flammable cargo can only enter the port under special dispensation from the governor. Any merchant seeking to off load such goods in Port Brighton with a license to import incendiary goods more than a year old is automatically flagged for extended search and private interrogation. The captains of these vessels are usually so eager to have the volatile cargo off their ship they are willing to grease a few palms to ensure their permits are renewed.

You get a bonus middle stack of coins because everything is better in threes.

For the wallets, I elected to draw what they held because I have drawn a lot of pouches and pitches are hard to draw. The various bomb bag items fall under the “can store explosives” umbrella. You will see the rest of the bomb bags next week.

Thank you for stopping by. Feel free to use these personally however you see fit, but do not pride off my efforts without my consent.

Be excellent to everyone. One way you can be excellent is voting to ensure women don’t lose the ability to determine what happens to their body.
