Big Green Rupee: Green is the simplest of the rupees, so big green rupees are the least valuable of the big rupees. Worth 50 of their smaller kin, Link often finds big green rupees in chests and soft soil as a reward for solving a minor puzzle.

Spending all summer searching for a leprechaun’s hidden gold is a waste of time. Spending all summer carefully tracking local leprechauns so that you can catch one after a particularly wild midsummer revel just takes commitment. Now that you’ve got this hungover fairy caught, you’ve got to get them to take you to their real gold, and not some false cache hidden to fool amateurs.

As they have fewer limitations on their healing, they are more expensive to purchase at Syrup’s shop. Link must also unlock the ability to buy these improved potions by fusing kinstones with a particular Forest Picori.

Flask of distilled sunlight: Distilled sunlight is being pumped directly into the corporeal form of a vampiric bat god to keep it in a catatonic state so that blasphemous vampire researchers can use the god’s blood to make super soldiers. 

Sometimes I take an item card that is already published and alter it slightly to better fit my campaign. Drewly is a great time to share those slight changes without feeling like I am cheating on a weekly post.

Four Swords Adventures: Improvised Explosive Flasks

Improvised Explosive Flasks 

Bomb: Much like the original Four Swords, many items in Four Swords Adventure are found on pedestals throughout the level. Any Link may only have one pedestal item at a time but has unlimited use of their item while they hold it. Bombs can be found on pedestals and can be used to destroy cracked walls and harm enemies. Bombs can even be upgraded in power if a Link can throw a bomb into a fountain of a Great Fairy.

For the chemist in the lab, whipping up a quick improvised bomb is child’s play. As is preparing an acid flask strong enough to melt flesh from bone. Now that the end times have come, the only way you are going to make it to post-apocalyptic is by getting on the good side of those who can make tools for self-defense.

Green Potion:  Green is the color of Link’s magic which is how you can remember that Green Potions fully restore Link’s magic bar when drank. Link can only purchase these potions after he has supplied the potion maker on Windfall Island with enough green chu chu jelly. After his initial gift, Link can always purchase more Green Potion from the shop.

One of many potions used to balance the humors and energies of the great sea. Many such potions are kept at the well of the sea where the caretaker maintains the fine balance needed to ensure a healthy ocean. If too much of any one potion were to be poured into the well, the resulting imbalance would be calamitous.

Wind Waker: A bottle of solar liqueur.

A bottle of solar liqueur.

Red Potion: The red potion of Wind Waker fully heals all of Link’s heart when he drinks it. It only works when he drinks it, so the potion can’t help Link if he loses his last heart. Link can purchase doses of red potion from Beedle’s Shop and can craft the potions in the Windfall Potion Shop using Red Chu Chu Jelly as the main ingredient.

Known as liquid sunshine, this liqueur is famous for its ability to warm the drinker. As distilled sunshine is a key ingredient, this spirit can also be used to fight denizens of the dark that loathe the light’s touch. If liquid sunshine is a real drink, we are left to wonder what the effects of liquid darkness could be.

Have a Blood Orange Boston Sour to celebrate New Year’s Eve!

Coupe: Coupes, pronounced coop like where a chicken lives, we’re designed specifically for the drinking of champagne. They were not made in the image of any famous French breasts as many scandalous rumors would have you believe. The wide saucer shape makes this a subpar glass for enjoying champagne sip by sip, but that same shape makes it ideal for showing off interesting textures and colors in cocktails. 

If you want to enjoy a drink from a coupe glass this New Year’s Eve, why not try a Blood Orange Boston Sour. The ingredients and instructions required to make it are below.

What you will need:

2 ounces fresh blood orange juice

2 ounces bourbon

1 ounce fresh lemon juice

½ ounce ginger liqueur

1 egg white

Blood orange slices for garnish

What you do:

Combine orange juice, whiskey, lemon juice, liqueur, and egg white in a cocktail shaker, fill halfway with ice, secure lid and shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Strain into a coupe glass and top with blood orange slice.

Four items from Oracle of Seasons that make you a monster.

Zora Flippers: These flippers allow Link to swim in the many waterways of Holodrum. Link must complete the Master Diver’s trial to earn the right to use the flippers. The trial sounds simple enough, return the Master’s Plaque, but that ignores the fact that the plaque is atop a waterfall that Link can only ascend with the help of Dimitri the swimming dodongo. With Dimitri’s help, Link can earn the flippers, and the whole wet world of water is opened to him.

These gloves appear to be silly costume details when not worn. After they are donned, they become stuck on the wearer, transforming the hands into monstrous claws. If the gloves are not somehow removed, they will eventually transform the wearer into a terrifying aquatic monster.

2020 has been a very hard year for many, myself included. Some great things happen in my life, including getting married, but this year was a dumpster fire that I wouldn’t want to live through again if you gave me a one time payment of $600. All jokes aside, this year sucked. Let’s do better with the next one.

Poe Soul: Found in the lamps dropped by defeated Poes, Poe Souls in Majora’s Mask work the same way as they did in Ocarina of Time. If Link consumes the soul, he is either healed a variable amount of hearts or Link’s health is depleted to half a heart. 

I tried to draw Gastly and Haunter as the Poe Soul and Big Poe Soul. I love how the Ghastly drawing came out, but I am far less fond of the Haunter drawing. Can’t all be perfect.

Spirits of the recently deceased are not uncommon sights in graveyards in the days following funerals. If funerary rites are completed properly, spirits should pass naturally from the mortal plane into the lands beyond. Either due to insufficient rites or unfinished business, some spirits are unable to leave the mortal world and begin to fester in their liminal existence.

Fairy: A classic item in Legend of Zelda games, Fairies restore Link to full health when used and are automatically released when Link loses his final heart. Fairies can be purchased or found in Link’s adventures and are stored in an empty jar. An interesting note on the fairies in Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask is that they were intended to be small humanoids with wings similar to common close up depictions of Tinker Bell. The graphical demands were too high for that depiction, so the designers went with the glowing orb with wings depiction. The humanoid body is intended to be within the glowing orb. 

Druids cannot always live in perfect harmony with all the spirits of nature. Some sprites are too contrary to live in harmony with anyone. Such is the case for this troublesome fairy that caused the warden too much trouble with their ceaseless pranks and no must bide their time in a bottle until the warden feels merciful.
