This drawing looks like a big blue uterus. It was not supposed to. Such is life. Drewly isn’t just about sharing the hits, sometimes you gotta share your misses.

Also, today is the 4th of July, which is a bit hard to celebrate since the American experiment is trying so hard to make naked facism work. It is totally fine to want to celebrate today, but it is equally valid to be critical and grieve.

Drewly 2026: A strand of fate

 A strand of fate

Strand of Fate: My players are always fucking with awesome powers capable of upsetting the balance. A fate weaver whose personal mission is to keep them from destroying the world gave the party this strand of fate so they can tweak the outcome of events while also surrendering some control to the weaver.

This is a reusable re-roll that anyone in the party can use on any roll they can see. If they use the re-roll, I, the GM, get the re-roll to be used on any roll I want. It swaps back and forth and often feels like a, “you just activated my trap card” moment.

 Angelic Trumpet

Angel’s Trumpet: Stolen from a proud angel by one of my players. The roll was such dumb luck that I let the player keep the trumpet even though the stat block said it ceases to be when not in the angel’s possession. Unfortunately, the shame of being robbed by a fool has started the angel on a tragic path that will see them fall from grace, embrace evil, and cut a bloody swath in pursuit of their revenge.

Drewly: Flask of distilled sunlight

 Flask of distilled sunlight

Flask of distilled sunlight: Distilled sunlight is being pumped directly into the corporeal form of a vampiric bat god to keep it in a catatonic state so that blasphemous vampire researchers can use the god’s blood to make super soldiers. 

Sometimes I take an item card that is already published and alter it slightly to better fit my campaign. Drewly is a great time to share those slight changes without feeling like I am cheating on a weekly post.

Drewly: Third Eye Lens

 Third Eye Lens

Third Eye Lens: When a person looks through all three of these lens they can peer into different planes, dimensions, and realities. The arrangement of lenses, down to the most minute distance, determines where you are able to perceive.

Drewly today is an item I gave my players so that they could see Chulhu and other eldritch horrors were out there and could be a problem in the future. Hopefully, the cults trying to attract their attention fail.

Drewly: Pearl of the Sirens

 Pearl of the Sirens

Pearl of the Sirens: Fashioned by a sea seductress who didn’t want to immediately drown and devour their victims. This necklace allows drylanders to survive beneath the water for as long as the seductress wishes.

We have been going strong with drewly for three entire weeks!

For a random one-off item drawing for my homebrew Pathfinder game, I am very happy with how this turned out.

Drewly: A chaotic mask

 A chaotic mask

Loki Mask: Cast out from Valhalla for causing chaos, Loki’s desire to cause mischief and make trouble was woven into a rough wooden mask. Whenever a person dons the mask, they are overcome with the pent-up eagerness to cause trouble.

Drewly today is another drawing that I am not fond of. Drewly isn’t about just sharing your highest achievements, its about sharing what you make, and sometimes you make something that isn’t great.

Amphora: Six items from my home game

 Six items from my home game

Greenbane Sling: This sling is imbued with a spell of seeking and bane toward plants. Its bullets fly unerringly towards powerful plants and its strike withers any plant material they touch.

Broadswing Hammer: This lucerne hammer allows its wielder to swing in supernaturally wide arcs. Striking a handful of foes is a simple task with this fine hammer.

Orichalcum Cannonball: This cannonball was forged from precious orichalcum, a metal hard as steel and bright as gold with other more wondrous qualities. It has also been enchanted to return after striking, ensuring the investment in such a fine cannonball is not wasted after one shot.

Bone of Wishing: The collarbone of a phoenix is rumored to grant a single wish to whoever wins the bigger half when pulled apart by two informed participants. Legend also states that anyone who lies to another about what sort of bone this is will burst into flames when the bone is cracked.

----------

These are all items my players have found, earned, or crafted in our ongoing campaign that started before I can even remember at this point. I am pre-writing this, so maybe it will have finally come to its epic conclusion.

Next week I begin our journey through the items in the Minish Cap. I absolutely loved playing the Minish Cap and really enjoyed drawing many of the items to come.

Amphora: Five items from my home game.

Five items from my home game.

Rod of Bouncing: Channeling your spell through this focus allows a spell that would otherwise strike a single target to ricochet between multiple targets.

Helm of Telepathy: This strange metal helmet amplifies its wearer's mental abilities and allows them to communicate psychically with nearby intelligent life. It also protects the wearer from unwelcome psychic intrusions.

Mighty Amulet of Icy Fists: This stone amulet is far heavier than it looks and is always cold. Communing with the amulet allows the wearer to wreath their hands and feet in bitter cold and strike with the strength of an ice giant.

Arctic Bow: This bow belonged to a ranger of the Ice Wastes. The supernatural cold of that wasteland permeated the bow, imparting arrows it fires with the draining chill of its frigid homeland.

Vambraces of the Effreti: These metal bracers were once used to bind an efreet in service. They were given as a gift to the person who freed the proud genie and were imbued with a mote of the efreet’s supernatural command of flame.

Here are five items I drew specifically for my home game. Since they weren’t drawn with a large audience in mind, they could be a bit silly or a bit obvious in their reference to other universes.
