The Minish Cap: That’s like, a giant shroom man

That’s like, a giant shroom man

Wake-up Mushroom: This variety of mushroom is known for its foul smell that is supposedly strong enough to wake the dead. Link can buy these mushrooms from Syrup, Witch of the Castor Wilds. If Link takes the mushroom to the sleeping cobbler in Hyrule Town, the smell wakes up the shoemaker, and he gives Link the Pegasus Boots as a reward. The cobbler believes he has the uncanny ability to finish shoes in his sleep, but really, the Minish do all his work.

According to local tradition, these rare mushrooms only grow where someone has attained enlightenment. Eating Pilgrims’ Pillow, as the mushroom is known, induces powerful visions and overwhelming sensations of spiritual awareness. Places where Pilgrims’ Pillow is known to grow naturally become destinations for those seeking enlightenment, either through following the path of the masters or by opening the doors of their own perception.

These mushrooms sound almost magical.

Not an artist: Five items from Oracle of seasons that come up in a murder investigation.

Five items from Oracle of Seasons that come up in a murder investigation.

Goron Vase: The fine details present in the Goron Vase’s surface imply that the Biggoron was not the potter responsible for its creation. The Biggoron gives Link the vase in exchange for the lava soup that cured his cold.

The murder weapon, if you can call it that, was a tea kettle with a secret compartment filled with poison. This devious kettle keeps the poisoned tea in a separate compartment that only pours when the kettle is held in a particular but innocuous way. The killer probably drank a cup of tea with the victim, disarming any fear of foul play.

I'm not an artist: Five items from Majora’s Mask found in a graveyard.

Five items from Majora’s Mask found in a graveyard.

Poe Soul: Found in the lamps dropped by defeated Poes, Poe Souls in Majora’s Mask work the same way as they did in Ocarina of Time. If Link consumes the soul, he is either healed a variable amount of hearts or Link’s health is depleted to half a heart.

I tried to draw Gastly and Haunter as the Poe Soul and Big Poe Soul. I love how the Ghastly drawing came out, but I am far less fond of the Haunter drawing. Can’t all be perfect.

Spirits of the recently deceased are not uncommon sights in graveyards in the days following funerals. If funerary rites are completed properly, spirits should pass naturally from the mortal plane into the lands beyond. Either due to insufficient rites or unfinished business, some spirits are unable to leave the mortal world and begin to fester in their liminal existence.

I'm not an artist: Five items from Ocarina of Time you could find at a birthday party.

Five items from Ocarina of Time you could find at a birthday party.

Cojiro: This blue cucco is not only remarkable due to its odd coloration, it is also extremely quiet, especially since its owner left. Looking at the cucco in context, I assume that it is a visual pun since the cucco is sad, or blue, that its friend is gone.

Look at what the petting zoo people brought to the party.

OMG. What is that thing?

I have no clue. I made a mistake when I checked the “something interesting” box when I couldn’t decide between the farm animals and safari animals.
Weirdest thing is they put up signs on the inside of the cage that say no pecking.

I hope the rest of the party is going better than that thing looks.

Five items from Link’s Awakening that you could find in a Merfolk Ambassador’s suite.

Magic rod: While this rod may appear to be generic in its magical properties, it can really only throw fireballs. However limited the magic in this rod may be, Link gets a lot of mileage out of this bottomless Roman candle.

One must carry an ambassador’s scepter of office to be recognized as an emissary of the Merfolk Diaspora. Holding the scepter keeps the bearer’s skin from drying out when outside of water, allows them to breathe air or water interchangeably, and offers the ability to communicate in the major languages of whatever area the ambassador is stationed. When a new ambassador is appointed, the scepter is presented to them as part of a secretive ritual that links the new owner to the scepter.

I'm not an artist: Travel essentials from A Link to the Past

Here are five items any wanderer would need from A Link to the Past.

Ether Medallion: A golden medal that gives its owner the ability to call down lightning strikes and control the weather by raising their blade to the heavens. Those that survive being struck by the lightning are paralyzed by the overwhelming power of the medallion.

Gold is as good as gold. The traveler's saying means all types of money and currency have value somewhere. When a traveler comes upon a cache of coins minted in Stormhold, they should take as many as they can carry because there will always be another money changer that can exchange those Stormhold bolts into Termina rupees or Imperial credits

Shamans, druids, and animages the world over visit the storm-callers of Mt. Abarat with the hopes of training under the masters of storm magics. Deep inside the Imojen mountain range, many would be pupils abandon their quest when the difficulty of traversing the mountains is too great. To receive their titular powers, Imojen Storm-Callers must climb to the peak of Mt. Abarat during the height of the rainy season. Those that reach the summit find an ancient stone tablet inscribed with ancient hieroglyphics. If the prospective storm-caller is able to decipher the message, they will discover they have always known the storms' true names. With this knowledge unlocked, the climber can truly assume the mantle of a storm-caller.
