Wind Waker: An incomparable amulet.

 An incomparable amulet.

Din's Pearl: This red rune-etched pearl is named after the Goddess Din and represents great courage. It is given to Link by Komali, prince of the Rito, helping the prince secure a dragon scale necessary for him to be recognized as an adult. The pearl is eventually used to draw up the Tower of the Gods from deep beneath the ocean.

This citrine amulet has been called the Incomparable Jewel. Its faceting and clarity are unmatched. It is truly a sight to behold, and you can behold it behind the thick glass at the center of the Royal Museum’s exhibit on the finest jewelry of the world.

----------

This is based on the famous diamond, L'Incomparable, which is far more majestic than my drawing could capture.

I look forward to the day when I can draw such a gem well enough to really capture the sparkle.

Be excellent to everyone.

Wind Waker: A knife to flay body and soul.

A knife to flay body and soul.

Big Key: The big key is the last of the set of dungeon items. Big keys open the boss room and are generally the final item earned by solving the most complex or thematically involved puzzle of the dungeon. With big key in hand, Link generally backtracks to the imposing boss door for the final confrontation of the dungeon.

Occult texts refer to a specific bronze dagger as the key to unlocking the prison of the flesh. Apparently, the blade can cut the bonds between the spirit and the body. This allows a spirit to enter a new body, freshly emptied of its previous inhabitant.

----------

Went for a menacing ritual dagger from a pulp fantasy movie vibe with this one. I wish I had spent more time coloring the dagger so that it looked like it wasn’t just cast from a single material. Maybe this is just a copy of the original and more powerful instrument used by the founder of the cult.

Be excellent to everyone.

Wind Waker: A sword breaker dagger.

A sword breaker dagger.

Small Key: Small keys are intrinsically tied to the dungeon they are found in. They cannot be used anywhere else, even if they look entirely self-similar to all other small keys found. As they are part of the set of dungeon items, they are generally found in treasure chests or as rewards for solving puzzles in the dungeons of Wind Waker and are used to progress deeper into the dungeons.

Sword breakers are standard equipment for the bodyguards of the Crossed Key Society. These mercenary bodyguards are expertly trained in keeping their charges alive and well. Disarming would-be assassins is often the key to ensuring the continued survival of their clients' long term as allows an assassin to be captured and interrogated.

----------

My first exposure to sword breakers was in Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced. I remember equipping that to my thieves and working to endlessly steal every possible weapon from every enemy I came across.

Be excellent to everyone.

Wind Waker: A compass that doesn’t point north.

A compass that doesn’t point north.

Compass: Generally, and in Wind Waker, the compass is a dungeon-specific item that shows where treasure, bosses, and other notable features of a dungeon are on the dungeon map. If you’ve found the compass before the dungeon map, you still see where the points of interest are, but you don’t get the room layout until you visit the room or find the map. Compasses are usually found after dungeon maps while exploring the various dungeons of the game.

This compass points to your heart's desire. As most people are conflicted or unsure about what they really want, this compass is usually assumed to be a broken bit of junk. For those few who can really focus on what they truly want, there is no telling where this compass could lead.

----------

I drew Captain Jack’s compass. I’m not hiding that or being coy. I bet there are a ton of homebrew games out there where this compass has popped up in one version or another.

If you are really not into the Pirates of the Caribbean compass, just imagine this is a Wayfinder from Pathfinder. A magical compass with special powers and an odd affinity for Ion Stones.

Be excellent to everyone.
