 A ceremonial monk’s spade

Shovel: Shovels allow a Link to dig into soft soil with the hopes of finding hearts, treasure, or secret passages. Shovels are pedestal items so they must take up your pedestal item slot. Is prospecting for treasure worth missing out on an additional weapon?

This ornately crafted weapon was commissioned to celebrate the life and work of a famous wandering monk who was set to visit the valley soon. The monk found the bright colors charming, but the ostentatious display of gold and silver was off-putting to the monk’s simple values. The monk requested that the weapon be stripped of all extravagance and that the gold and silver be shared equally among all those who lived in the valley.

This monk’s spade was inspired by the Monkey King’s amazing staff that can resize itself at its master’s whim and even fight on its own when commanded. You could quickly employ that in a game by using some monk npc stats and just saying that it is a dancing weapon.

Moblin Spear: Moblins of the Great Sea often attack Link using long crooked spears fringed with tattered braids. Link can use these spears by defeating Moblins, greatly increasing his range of attack. These spears are as deadly as Darknut Swords but are not strong enough to shatter pillars.

Swords are for the rich and axes are for the woodpile, but spears are for soldiers. Spears can slay a foe before a sword can reach and they can take down a charging horse. Let the flashy fools keep their shining swords, give me a trusty spear any day.

Given the choice of having a spear or a sword, most modern people would want the flashy hero energy of a sword, but most people contemporary with both would choose spears. You can’t use a sword as a walking stick, but you can use a spear as one.

I wish that the fantasy and RPG space made spears cooler. The only two compelling spear fighters I can think of are Oberyn Martell from A Song of Ice and Fire and Balsa from Moribito.

Skull Tower Idol: This gruesome stack of bones is another idol in the decoration trading sequence. Link must trade another idol for this one and it can be traded for an idol or flag. Since this can also be placed on the Joyous pedestals around Windfall Island, this is the best idol to max out the island’s spookiness.

You stand before a fallen keep choked with sand from the encroaching desert. Atop the gate was carved the message, “Look into the faces of those who opposed me and despair for I am eternal.” Amidst the decay, a single pike remained piercing a bleached white skull that could have been a vanquished enemy or a deposed tyrant.

Hero's Flag: Nearing the end of the decoration trading sequence, Link must offer the Big Sale Flag to receive the Hero’s Flag. With this final flag, Link can obtain one of the statues available in the sequence. This can also be placed in a Joyous Pedestal on Windfall Island.

When the captain of your ship fell to the pirates boarding your small vessel all hope seemed to be lost. You weren’t even thinking when you picked up the pike that slew your captain and led a desperate counterattack that freed your ship. You didn’t know it then, but that was your first step toward becoming a legendary hero of the seas.

I always want to play a polearm specialist ala the Sand Snakes from Game of Thrones or a Wuxia spear fighter, but I will probably just make them a spear-themed warband or encounter since I’m a forever GM.

Big Catch Flag: Initially, Link must trade a sickle moon flag with one of the traveling merchants of the Great Sea in exchange for the big catch flag. This is another step in the decoration item trading sequence, so Link can trade this flag for the next flag in the set or place it on a joyous pedestal on Windfall Island.

Legends speak of a great island nation that dominated the seas using god-like magics and wondrous machines. This wonder of the world was swallowed up by the seas they believed they commanded for the hubris and corruption of their sovereigns. While the sea mercilessly crushed the sovereign, the regular people of the island were each given a small fraction of the power held in the Sea Soverign’s Fork so that they might breathe water as well as air and rebuild their nation in cooperation with the sea instead of in domination of it.

That is a socialist revolution retelling of Atlantis. Imagine searching for the lost city to claim its god-like artifact only to find the fork a powerless token of a failed social order.

I'm not an artist: Banner Spear for Pride

Fly the pride flag high with this banner spear to honor the end of Pride Month.

Pride is a celebration that started as a protest. People fought and continue to fight for the right to be their truest selves. I'm cis-gendered and heterosexual so I never had to fight for the right to be my honest self, but I support and celebrate pride for the work others had to do. We should all support and celebrate pride for the same reasons.

I found hearing a person tell their own story was very helpful. I recommend spending some time listening to the stories and perspectives of others here.

I'm sick so here are the first five items I drew for my players.

I've been really sick lately so I haven't been able to keep up with drawing and writing. To lighten my load and give myself what feels like an easy win here are the first five items I ever drew for my players. 

Here it is. The first thing I ever drew to give to a player for a magic item. It is a bullet of assassination that I am pretty sure hasn't been used yet even though it was found very early on in the campaign.
