I'm not an artist: Six items from Ocarina of Time you would find at a fantasy customs checkpoint.

Six items from Ocarina of Time you would find at a fantasy customs checkpoint.

Silver Scale: Link has the innate ability to swim and dive in Ocarina of Time. This is pretty nice since, in other games, he has had to get some magical help to simply swim. The silver scale improves his natural abilities. most importantly allowing access to Jabu-Jabu’s belly

Fig Harbor is known as the gateway to the west in the thousand islands east of the Neck. With piracy being a socially acceptable career east of the neck, most people are surprised to learn of customs agents operating in such seemingly lawless lands. Fig Harbor customs agents all wear a silver scale in a glass bauble. They are only concerned with the intercepting the few truly forbidden cargos such as slaves or souls.

Golden Scale: The golden scale is an optional improvement that adds another three meters/three seconds of diving on top of what is offered by the silver scale.

The silver scale worn by Fig Harbor customs agents are more than a ceremonial badge, they help agents combat one of the vilest trades. The bauble shivers and glows dimly when in close proximity to disembodied souls. The agents grimly refer to the glow as a ghost light.

Giant’s Knife: The giant’s knife is a prelude to the Biggoron’s Sword. The sword can strike enemies eight times or a single wall before it breaks. Link can use the blade after it breaks, but it is about as useful as one might expect.

If you polled every Fig Harbor customs agent on what they always carry, a knife would be near the top of every list. A sharp knife is an extremely versatile tool, and it can be used as a weapon in a pinch. Small folding blades are also well suited for hiding in a boot or the fold of a cloak.

Deku Seed Bullet Bag: Link gets this satchel along with the Fairy Slingshot. He needs this satchel to carry deku seeds since he wouldn’t stoop so low as to use the stones littering the ground.

Big Deku Seed Bullet Bag: The two upgrades available to the seed bullet bag can be won in the Lost Woods target practice and the Market Shooting Gallery. Link receives this upgrade when he finishes the first challenge.

Biggest Deku Seed Bullet Bag: This is the second bullet bag upgrade. Link receives it after completing the second challenge.

One hundred tons of hard shell seeds is not the most exciting cargo to inspect. Such simple and menial inspections are often assigned to the least experienced customs agents. No one ever expected to see a ghost light shine during such a routine investigation. The rookies sent to inspect the cargo of the Fairy’s Flight have uncovered evidence of a soul smuggling ring that has connections to a local coven of hags, corrupt clergy, and the mayor who may be receiving bribes to ensure the right people look the other way when certain ships come to port.
