Five rings from the Oracles games used by a villain to corrupt friendly programs.
Pegasus ring: The hastening effects of Pegasus seeds are lengthened when Link wears this ring. Link finds this ring in a cave in the Sea of Storms. This ring must be passed through ring secrets to be used in Holodrum.
Speedy McQuick was once a helpful information delivery program before Dr. Nefair tricked them into wearing this virus laden ring. This corrupted ring transformed Speedy into a slow moving sludge monster that has clogged up the information delivery system vital to the net’s success. If someone could separate Speedy from this ring, the ring’s corruption could be purged and Speedy could be restored.
Toss Ring: Wearing this ring increases the distance Link throws objects like vases, bombs, or Dimitri. It can be found randomly in Gasha nuts or in run-ins with Maple, but Link can also consistently find this in the entrance to the Mermaid’s Cave in Labrynna. To find this in Holodrum, Link has to rely on luck or must send it through a ring secret using Vasu’s snakes.
Crystal was responsible for displaying the many beautiful images throughout the net. After Dr.Nefari’s corrupting ring, the net was dark and shadowed. Someone will need to fight their way to the top of Crystal’s spire and remove this cursed band to restore the vibrant beauty of the net.
Heart Ring 1: While wearing this ring, Link slowly recovers lost hearts. I inevitably use items like this in games as I am always looking for items that offer me benefits on the long term scale. To obtain this ring, Link must pass a linked game secret to either the Great Fairy in the Temple of Seasons, or to Farore in Labrynna’s Hall of Secrets.
Before Dr.Nefari, every citizen of the net had a list of friends they could reach out to for help. Pladonna was the program in charge of managing these friends lists, but they became a mistrustful hermit after being corrupted by this ring. Collaboration and cooperation will be impossible until Pladonna is restored to their open-armed self.
Heart Ring 2: An improved version of the Heart Ring 1, this ring restores Link’s missing hearts at a much higher rate when worn. It can be found in either game inside of Gasha Nuts or through run-ins with Maple the Witch.
Phili was the major force behind citizens of the net falling in love prior to Dr.Nefari’s scheming. While citizens can still find love without the master matchmaker, the loss of such a positive force of good has left many citizens despondent. If Phili can be purified, they will be a surprisingly effective force for good against the villainous Dr.Nefari.
Swimmer's Ring: Wearing this ring makes Link swim faster. It is obtained by passing a linked game secret to the Master Diver, and absentee husband, of Sunken City in Holodrum. It can also be obtained by speaking to Farore in Labrynna’s Hall of Secrets after obtaining the secret from the Master Diver.
In the long forgotten time before the net, citizens were made of physical matter and were kept alive by the vital fluids contained in their bodies. Net citizens have all but forgotten the physical origin of their predecessors, which is why no one believed the rumors of vampires stalking the dark places of the net. Dr. Nefari has using these mass produced rings to create net-vampires that feed on the life energy contained in each and every citizen of the net.

While this post may feel like everything is back to normal, you shouldn’t be getting complacent about all the developments in the world.
Black lives still matter. This is still an issue as Rayshard Brooks was killed by the police in Atlanta, GA. Some people might try to find ways to make this killing more palatable, but I want to remind everyone that police in the United States observe, chastise, and kill black people at higher rates than they do white people. It's a systemic issue that needs a systemic solution.
June is also LGBTQ+ pride month. It is important to remember that pride parades started as protests demanding equal rights and telling the world that LGBTQ+ were tired of being over policed and under protected. Pride events have largely been canceled due to COIVD, so we need to make sure we aren’t forgetting that these people are still fighting for their rights. LGBTQ+ people are humans and are deserving of equal rights. It doesn’t help that a famous author decided to take a hard stand against trans rights.
Much of the world is still battling a pandemic. We all can’t be in New Zealand, so we all need to work together to make sure that we don’t spread this virulent disease. I know everyone wants everything to go back to normal, but I think we are past everything being able to truly go back to normal. We are in the land of new normal on so many fronts.
Many people try to split their politics out from their entertainment, but I believe that all acts are inherently political. If you choose to bury your head in the sand, that is a political choice to accept the status quo. I get that people need to recharge, I know I desperately need to, which is why this post is a bit late, but I don’t want that need to step back let anyone who is privileged forget the battles that are being fought.
The world is a place we all share so be excellent to everyone.
