I'm not an artist: Five fish from Majora’s Mask 3D you can find in a cursed mangrove swamp.

Five fish from Majora’s Mask 3D you can find in a cursed mangrove swamp.

Groovy Carp: Link can catch this jive fish using a sinking lure in the northern section of the Swamp Fishing Hole at any time during any day.

The fell swamp has a reputation for being inhabited by all manner of deadly creatures eager to kill the unwary. Even in such a dangerous place, something has to be at the bottom of the food chain. The meat of these placid carp is safe for outsiders to eat, but their scales and fins are toxic and should be carefully avoided.

Lord Chapu-Chapu: Another carnivorous fish, this entitled monster of a fish is a secret bonus fish that Link can catch while he is reeling in a smaller fish. This fish is not on the list of possible fish to catch provided by the fishing hole owner. The owner refers to it as the “king o’ the swamp.” That makes sense as this fish appears to be a smaller version of the Lord Jabu-Jabu, the massive god-king of the Zora. Maybe they are distant cousins.

Saltwater crocodiles that make their home in the blood-red waters of the swamp are well known for their ferocity and massive bulk. These behemoths have been known to attack small vessels that trespass into their territory. Travelers who must go through the territories of brineblood crocodiles often prepare sacrificial meals to satiate the beast’s hunger.

Mooranha: Known as the “swampland cow killer” this vicious species of piranha has an unquenchable thirst for cows. These fish simply cannot resist the sight of a cow. Link can catch them while under the bovine guise of the Romani Mask.

In many places, the danger of piranhas has been far exaggerated by the many retellings of travelers' tales. That is not the case in the Brineblood swamp. Nomadic swarms of piranhas can strip the flesh from a person in moments in a blood fueled feeding frenzy.

Postal Salmon: This fish of habit completes a regular circuit around the Swamp Fishing Hole during the first and second day. This fish will ignore all of Link’s casts unless he is wearing the Postman’s Hat

Red salmon are not native to the swamp but were brought there by a freak storm that rained all manner of foreign creature from the sky. The fish have fought to adapt to the cursed and unfamiliar waters. In only a few generations the fish have become aggressive and resistant to the swamp’s toxins.

Sweet Ranchfish: As they say, “You can take the fish out of the ranch, but you can’t take the ranch out of the fish.” This fish is fond of swimming in the rivers and streams that run through windswept grasslands and peaceful pastures. As it is particularly fond of the music of such places, Link can lure this fish into the small western pond by playing Epona’s Song near the shore.

The siren eel earns its name from the strange trill it makes during the twice-yearly mating season. The eels are opportunistic predators, striking from their homes in the porous stone foundation of the swamp. Many a drunken fool has stumbled into a watery grave chasing the beautiful music of these eels.

We continue through the weeks of fish that will close out the items from Majora’s Mask.

Full disclosure, I usually stick to using one wiki as my source for consistency purposes, but I was unfatihful and used another wiki for this post as it had better info concerning the individual fish that can be caught.

October is upon us, which has meant Inktober for the last few years. As I am fairly busy with school this year, I will just be trying to do draw-ctober. That means I will be trying to find time to at least draw every day. Hopefully, I will be able to knock out more completed drawings of the items from Oracle of Seasons with this added incentive.

I may also do some fun ink drawings as the mood strikes. Pens are just too fun to use. If I do, I will try to post them as bonus posts like I did last year.

Please use my work personally however you see fit, but do not profit off my efforts without my consent.

Be excellent to everyone.
