Blue Luck Ring: This ring reduces the damage inflicted by beams by half. It can be found randomly throughout Holodrum and Labrynna, but can also be found in the Zora Village in current era Labrynna.
This simple ring surrounds the wearer in a magical shield. This shield provides a nominal amount of protection but is not visible or encumbering in the least. As such, it is very popular among those in proper circles who cannot be overtly seen worrying about their personal safety.
Gold Luck Ring: Found only in Ambi’s Palace in past era Labrynna, this ring reduces the amount of damage incurred from falling into pits by half. In the game, the ring simply says, “½ damage from falls” and for the life of me I couldn’t figure out falls meant dropping into pits and being reset.
This ring causes the wearer’s skin to transform into hard scales, making their skin like armor. For those who already have scales, this ring reinforces the strength of their skin. Removing the ring begins an uncomfortably itchy molting process where the hard armor-like skin is slowly shed.
Red Luck Ring: Wearing this ring reduces the damage dealt by spiked floors by half. It can be found randomly throughout Labrynna and Holodrum, but it can also be found in the Rolling Ridge of Labrynna where Link can trade 20 ember seeds and 20 bombs to eventually be rewarded with the ring, or he can score well in the Lynna Village Shooting Gallery to have a chance to win this ring.
In some places of the world, the breath of dragons has claimed countless lives. In those dragon-blighted realms, rings to protect against the worst effects of a dragon’s breath are highly valuable. This ring uses the five dragon scales as the focus for the protection, only offering protection from the breath of the dragon these scales were harvest from.
Green Holy Ring: Wearing this ring offers full immunity to electricity, which is super helpful if you are like me and are not very careful about your interactions with electric chuchus. This can be found randomly in Holodrum and Labrynna. It can also be found in a few specific places, hidden by Subrosian brothers in their treasure grove, in Labrynna’s Fairies’ Woods, or by winning it in the Goron Dance game.
When activated this ring projects a tower shield of force in front of the wearer. The tower shield can be maneuvered with a thought, but must remain mostly in front of the user. This type of protection is most useful for those who with to rain arrows and spells down onto the battlefield from afar. Be wary, the bright glowing shield has a tendency to attract a lot of attention, especially at night.
Blue Holy Ring: The blue holy ring makes Link immune to the fireballs that zoras spit at him from the waterways of Holodrum and Labrynna. He can find this ring randomly throughout Holodrum and Labrynna, and it can also be won in the Lynna Village Shooting Gallery.
When traveling in lands infested with hordes of the undead, it is wise to hide ones life spark as to not draw unwanted attention. Wearing this ring clouds the wearers vital essence, effectively rendering them invisible to the beings that hunt only by sniffing after living souls. One unfortunate side effect of wearing this ring is that it makes the wearer appear sallow, unhealthy, and almost like a member of the undead themself.

This year in the US we should all take a much closer look at what we are celebrating on the 4th of July. The US’ independence from the British Empire began as protesting, rioting, and destruction of property that was illegal. The demonstrators felt that their goals were worth risking their lives to achieve. That description does not sound terribly dissimilar to the protests and riots that followed the murder of George Floyd. I am faced with many people who are eager to celebrate the 4th of July, but are unwavering in their condemnation of protesters demanding that black lives be spared the violence and disenfranchisement of police brutality and other forms of systemic racism.
I am also dismayed by the fact that the inciter president of the US travels to South Dakota to celebrate the 4th of July at a holy site of the Lakota that was carved with the faces of four white men who are inseparable from their problematic lives and the harmful policies they oversaw as president of the US. The Black Hills were given to the Lakota people by a treaty that was subsequently broken by the US. During my thirteen years at public schools in the US, I was not taught that story.
If you celebrated the 4th this year, try to think about all the people that didn’t have equal rights during each era of this country. Pick a moment in the US’ history that you think is “great” and really investigate who it was great for and why it wasn’t great for other people living at the same moment. Think about how that inequity is still present in the society of the US, and why so many are so comfortable letting the status quo continue.
Excellence for all requires rights and privileges for all.
Be excellent to everyone.
