Not an artist: Five rings from the Oracles games given as famous gifts.

Five rings from the Oracles games given as gifts.

Red Holy Ring: This ring makes Link immune to damage from the rocks spit by octoroks. Link can acquire the ring randomly throughout his adventures in Holodrum and Labrynna, but he can also find it consistently in an undersea cave in Labrynna’s Zora Seas

In lands where dragons are wise and awesome masters of the fundamental forces of the world, the gift of a dragon scale is auspicious. It is almost unheard of for dragons to gift their scales personally. More often, brave or fool hardy adventurers are tasked with tracking down a dragon and securing a scale without angering the great and terrible creature.

Snowshoe Ring: This ring stops Link from slipping on ice when worn. Link can only get this ring by passing a secret from Mamamu Yan’s mother staying in the floodgate keeper’s house to Mamamu Yan in Lynna City. Since this ring can only be found in Labrynna, it must be passed to Holodrum through Vasu’s red and blue snakes.

This ring was stolen from the hibernal court of the fey and given to the witch queen in the land thrice ten lands away. When the witch queen set eyes on the ring, its curse gave her a choice, either freeze her entire country in an endless winter or be locked inside an eternal prison of ice. The immortal witch queen continues to rule her country from the confines of her icey throne.

Roc’s Ring: While wearing this ring, cracked floors do not crumble if Link stands on them for longer than a brief moment. Link can find this ring randomly throughout Holodrum and Labrynna.

This gold ring is a cast of a simple cord with a monkey’s fist knot. The original chord ring was a humble gift given to a sailor as a good luck charm. It must have worked because that sailor stumbled upon a hidden treasure that allowed them to buy their own ship and protect their home from pirate raids. It is now traditional for the sailor’s descendants to give monkey’s fists knots to their children when they set out on their first adventure.

Quicksand Ring: Link will not be pulled under by quicksands when wearing this ring. I’m addition to finding the ring randomly throughout his adventures in both lands, Link can always find this ring in a North Horon cave during autumn or by scoring well in the Big Bang Game in the Rolling Ridge.

In life Xen was a gifted mage dedicated to unraveling the mysteries of magic, and in death they have continued their research as an animate mass of worms and bugs held in a humanoid form by the mage’s spirit. To their most trusted apprentice, they gave this ring of living worms connecting the apprentice to the swarm lich’s power. It can be placed in a fresh corpse to convert the body into a swarm simulacrum Xen can use to intervene personally without risking undue risk.

Red Joy Ring: Rupees gathered while wearing this ring are doubled. I doubt that works on the big rupees found in chests, but I’m not going to do the research to find out for sure. This is another ring that is found randomly throughout Holodrum and Labrynna in gasha nuts and run-ins with Maple the witch.

This is widely considered the least beautiful engagement ring in the world. Its massive stone was supposed to be so unsightly that the request would be soundly rejected, but the tastes of the one who received it were so materialistic that they were eager to wear such an ostentatious sign of wealth. The marriage has not yet failed, but there have been few signs of happiness from either member.

In three background I am almost finished with the Four Swords items. Since there are so few, I felt that I should take the opportunity to practice with my color skills. They are, at best, developing but it has been fun brining the items to life with color as well as lines. I won’t post those for a while, but watch out for them.

I did some color work for the Oracle of Seasons items, so I may sprinkle in some of those color versions as we work through those items. Seasons is next after we finish with the rings so that is coming soonish.

Wear a mask when you go to places.

Wearing a mask when you go out, and especially when you go into a shared indoor space, will help stop the spread of COVID. Many countries in the world are struggling to contain the spread of the virus and wearing a mask is an everyday thing we can all do to help each other get through this terrible time.
