Five rings from the Oracles games given as prizes.
Slayer’s Ring: Wearing this ring does nothing but remind Link of the many monsters he has slain in Labrynna and Holodrum. This ring is given to Link by Vasu after Link has slain 1,000 monsters.
The grand champion of this year’s melee will be awarded this finely wrought diamond ring emblazoned with the royal filigree. Second place is a hefty purse that, while being technically worth less than the first place ring, is much easier to spend as pawning the grand prize could offend the hosts. With all that in the background, the battle for second place has never been fiercer.
Rupee Ring: This ring commemorates that Link has picked up 10,000 rupees, but has no effect when worn. It is given to Link by Vasu after Link has picked up the requisite number of rupees. How Vasu knows Link’s body count or total times he stopped to pick up some change is not clear. Maybe those snakes get up to more than we know.
This simple gemstone ring was gifted to a group of odd strangers that stumbled into the village from the wilderness. The strangers ventured to the nearby castle and purged it of a great evil that had taken residence there. In the process, the strangers freed enslaved children stolen from across the country that were being forced to toil in the deep diamond mines beneath the castle grounds.
Victory Ring: This ring declares to any who see it that Link has conquered evil in another land. Link can find this ring in his inventory after he starts a new game using the Hero’s Secret learned at the conclusion of either Oracle of Ages or Oracle of Seasons.
Rings such as this are only ever given to individuals that complete some heroic task for the royal family. Bearing such a ring the greatest mark of honor the royal family can bestow. Due to the extreme danger of most of the tasks, almost all of these rings are awarded posthumously.
Sign Ring: Another ring that has no effect when worn, this ring signifies that Link has destroyed at least one hundred signs throughout Holodrum. It is given to Link by a Subrosian who loves signs and somehow sees giving this ring to Link as a form of punishment. Link can only obtain this ring in Labrynna by passing ring fortunes between Vasu’s Blue and Red snakes in a linked game.
Communities hold competitions and give awards based on what they value. In logging communities, competitions to find the fastest to fell a tree with an axe, split a log with a saw, or roll a log downriver are common in the Summer’s End festivals. Every year, this ring is given to the best overall forester, and it has been kept three years in a row by Raca Vasshoth.
100th Ring: This ring is a bit meta as it signifies that Link has appraised one hundred rings during his adventures. It is given to Link by Vasu after Link has appraised his one-hundredth ring at the jeweler.
The country’s greatest detective was given this ring to celebrate the solving of their one-hundredth case. The honors were stripped when it came to light that the country’s greatest detective was also the country’s greatest criminal mastermind. The two individuals were two sides of a split personality.

Thank you all for understanding my lame post last week. Moving is a total nightmare and I didn’t need to remember to write a blog when I didn’t even have functional internet.
Before the move, I finished drawing all the items in Four Swords and doing at least one coloration for each card. It is more than a few posts away, but I’m excited to show off my amateurish attempts at coloring.
If you are can vote in the United States, I ask that you vote by whatever means you can safely cast your ballot. With BLM and COIVD and healthcare and everything else this year, there has never been a better time to critically evaluate your value and then research and vote for candidates that align with your ideals. This is especially important in local elections.
Please use my work personally however you like, but do not profit off my efforts without my consent.
Be excellent to everyone.
