Five rings from the Oracles games that are double-edged.
Wisp Ring: This ring protects Link from the jinx curse of the wisps. Without the ring’s protection, Link becomes unable to draw his sword for a short time after being touched by a wisp. Link can find this ring randomly throughout his adventures in Labrynna and Holodrum.
This ring was intended to ensure that peace talks could happen between completely hostile parties. When wearing a ring such as this, any wound dealt to the wearer is dealt in even measure to the attacker. It also mirrors wounds dealt by the wearer onto the wearer.
Gasha Ring: While wearing this ring, the number of slain monsters required to fully mature a gasha seed into a nut bearing tree is halved. Link can obtain this ring randomly in his journeys.
The creator of this ring made it to assist them in finding lost objects. Their drive to find lost objects was so myopic that they were blind to the ring’s side effect. As the ring finds one object it makes something else deeply lost.
Peace Ring: With the power of this ring, bombs do not detonate while Link is holding them. This is another ring that Link finds randomly from gasha nuts, run-ins with Maple the witch, buying rings from shops, or winning rings from mini-games.
This strange ring can absorb and store the destructive energies of explosions and then violently release them at a later time. The creator of this ring had a dark sense of humor as the ring only functions when worn. This means a wearer must be in an explosion to charge the ring and then be at the center of another explosion when releasing the ring’s energy.
Zora Ring: This ring gives Link the Zora’s ability to dive beneath the water without needing to surface to breathe. Link can find this ring randomly in his adventures.
If this ring is worn on the left ring finger, the wearer can become supernaturally charming. This magnetism is powered by the breath of the person being charmed. Tapping too deeply into the ring’s power can quickly kill the person being enchanted.
Fist Ring: Just like the Expert’s Ring, wearing this ring allows Link to punch when using an item slot without an equipped item. The punches from this ring are weaker than the Expert’s Ring and do not knockback enemies. Link can find this randomly in his travels.
A foolish ruler heard the story of a king that asked for the ability to turn anything they touch into gold and thought they could outsmart such a double-edged gift. The ruler asked the gods for a ring enchanted with a more practical power. The gift they received held the power to anything it touched into lead, including the ruler when they donned the ring for the first time.
-----------
In my lazy post, I missed the double-edged ring, so I thought I’d give that theme a whole week.
COVID cases are up across the United States. This is a pretty scary time to be considering packing schools full of human beings.
Please use my work personally however you see fit, but do not profit off my efforts without my consent.
Be excellent to everyone.
