I'm not an artist: Six items from Majora’s Mask you could find in a Pacific Northwest town.

Six items from Majora’s Mask you could find in a Pacific Northwest town.

Mystery Milk: In the rerelease of Majora’s Mask for the 3DS Link is tasked with fetching mystery milk and delivering it within 2 minutes of playtime. If Link is successful, he is rewarded with the empty bottle used to transport the milk. If Link takes too long, the mystery milk cuddles and becomes moldy milk and Link is only rewarded with a foul bottle of rot.

According to the bartender at the Curdled Calf, the dust-covered bottle of milk above the bar is supposedly the hallowed milk from the Earth Mother’s very own breast. Consuming the milk grants the drinker godlike powers. Unfortunately, the bottle is magically sealed, and no one has even loosened the lid after years of attempts.

Spring Water: Fresh pure spring water is required to coax growth from magic beans planted in soft soil. Not all water sources are created equal so Link can’t bottle just any water to get spring water. Also, hot spring water eventually cools into spring water if it is left unused in Link’s inventory.

The town of Serenity Springs was founded after prospectors chasing gold found an overabundance of natural springs. Some springs are spa-like hot springs perfect for relaxing, others have some of the coolest purest drinking water imaginable. Roadside merchants make a living selling passing travelers bottles of claiming to be pure spring water. Some merchants hike into the deep woods to collect the water honestly, while other merchants go only as far as the kitchen sink and a water filter.

Hot Spring Water: Hot spring water can only be found in the few naturally occurring hot springs that can be found across Termina. Hot spring water can be used to melt blocks of ice and plays a central role in a fetch quest for a Gibdo

Local lore says that one of the thousands of steaming pools in the wilderness surrounding the town can cure the sick and heal the injured. One drink can cure the common cold and apparently more serious conditions can be cured by bathing in the pool. You can read all about this legend on the backs of the bottles of hot water sold out of ovens as cure-alls and tonics by those who claim to know the secret location of the pool.

Fierce Deity Sword: Upon donning the fierce deity mask, Link transforms into an intimidating adult warrior with an equally impressive sword. The fierce deity sword is technically the most powerful sword in the game as it deals the same base damage as the great fairy sword and deals additional magical damage if Link has mana remaining.

Prospectors may have founded the town, but its first real influx of wealth was when the Cavendish twins, Emmanuel and Evangeline, retired from a lucrative whaling career to the fledgling Serenity Springs. The twins were personally involved in the design and construction of their manor, ensuring their specific requirements were followed exactly. One such requirement was the construction of an impenetrable vault to hold their most valuable possessions, including a sword and dagger they claim, were recovered from the lost city of Atlantis.

Buckle up for a couple weeks of fish. There are plenty of fish in Majora’s Mask thanks to the fishing holes, and I drew them all. I hope my creative spark can last the scaly gauntlet. My light at the end of the piscine tunnel is that with the end of the fish comes the end of Majora’s Mask. It will be another Zelda game completed and another completed set of cards put out there in the world. I hope you will all stick around through this flood of fish.

Please use my work personally however you see fit, but do not profit off my efforts without my consent.

Be excellent to everyone and be excellent to the earth
