Six items from Oracle of Seasons found in the vault of an old mansion.
Blue Ore: Buried in a patch of conspicuous soil in the southwestern wilds of Subrosia, Link must use his magnetic glove to navigate the many otherwise impassible pits that block the way to the blue ore. After digging up this ore and finding the red ore we discussed previously, Link can have the two ores smelted together into the hard ore by the Subrosian Smelter.
Children have dared each other to explore the decaying mansion on the hill for generations. Having had so many visitors, It is a wonder that no one ever found this vault before you did tonight. If those ingots are real gold you are rich.
Hard Ore: An alloy of the red and blue ore, the hard ore is smelted by the Subrosian Smelter in the Great Furnace. Link can take the ore to the Subrosian Master Smiths and have them upgrade his shield to the next tier. If Link has already used linked game secrets to upgrade to an iron shield, he receives the mirror shield.
Squeezing through the narrow opening of the vault door you don’t just see gold in those small boat-shaped ingots. There is a stack of gold bars in the corner of the vault taller than you. There is no way you can carry this all with you right now, you didn’t even bring a backpack.
Magical Ring: We have spent a while on the magical rings from the Oracle games. I drew an Ouroboros ring to represent the generic Oracle of Ages magical ring and I drew an entire set of rings to represent each of the different identified rings, and then some, Link can find in Labrynna and Holodrum.
Magical rings are found all over Holodrum. Each has hidden properties and Link must take them to Master Jeweler Vasu to have them identified for a nominal fee. There are 64 different rings. Some provide magical enhancements to Link to aid him in his adventures while others act as mementos are achievements.
Finally something small enough to fit in your pockets. You recognize one of the rings as bearing the town crest, which supposedly belonged to a great knight that gave their life to defend the town from some horrible evil, but you don’t recognize the other three symbols. As you turn around to sneak back out of the vault you can only watch in horror as the vault door closes and locks with a screech of rusted metal.
----------
A white police officer in the US, specifically another one in Minnesota, unjustly killed another black man recently. The regular incidence of these killings supports the conclusion that there is a major problem with policing in the United States that cannot be solved with best wishes, prayers, or hollow talk. Systemic racism is a problem that needs systemic solutions that we can all work to push in whatever field or groups you are a part of.
You may think that gaming content shouldn’t discuss social or political issues, but avoiding discussing such issues in these spaces just allows the problems to perpetuate in the hobby realm. I can’t count the number of posts I see about people feeling the harm of bigotry and hate in the hobby space.
Even naming something as being possibly problematic, bias, or insensitive is a good first step in the critical conversations that should be happening in all groups and communities.
Hate is bad for everyone. Be excellent to everyone.
