Five rings from the Oracles games Vasu can show you, a first time customer.
Magic Ring: I covered this in the Oracle of Ages set, but the two Oracles games, Ages and Seasons, have a lot in common as they are sibling games meant to be played in tandem. While many things are partially shared or very similar, the list of magic rings Link can find in Labrynna and Holodrum are exactly the same.
Link can find these rings by opening gasha nuts, bumping into Maple the witch, buying them in shops, winning them in games, or by conquering some specific challenge. Many rings have magical effects when worn, but some rings act more like achievements as they only serve to commemorate a specific accomplishment. Link never knows what the rings he has found do until he pays Vasu the jeweler to identify the rings.
While there are 64 total rings to collect, Link may only equip one at a time. He can only equip rings that are in his ring box so he doesn’t have access to his entire collection when out adventuring.
Not all magic rings are created equal. Vasu, the world’s preeminent arcane jeweler, is more than happy to introduce you to the wide variety of rings one could find while undertaking a heroic quest. These simple rings are warded against corrosion but offer no other boon to a wearer.
Friendship Ring: This is the freebie introductory ring that Vasu gives upon meeting Link. He still makes Link pay to have the ring identified as this entirely inert symbol of friendship, which is sort of like having been given a free drink but having to pay for the glass.
Rings such as this one are always forged in sets to honor the bonds of friendship. To give another a ring like this is to proclaim that they are worthy of your implicit trust and admiration. Some may confuse such gifts as an admission of romantic love as it seems that many have forgotten what it means to love another platonically.
----------
Buckle up for a wild ride through the wide world of finger jewelry.
I actually finished this set before I finished Oracle of Ages, so it might not appear as polished as some of the drawings in that set.
Please use these personally however you see fit, but do not profit off my efforts without my consent.
Be excellent to everyone.
