Seas of Amphora: Five more items from my homebrew campaign

Five more items from the Seas of Amphora

Emesisian Goat: Mammon’s infernal vaults contain an indescribable amount of wealth. Much of it is simple currency from a hundred worlds, but some of the wealth is much more unique. One such trophy is a golden goat idol that ceaselessly streams milk and mead.

Ring of Running and Leaping: This ring gives the wearer the strength of an additional leg. While this might not help a wearer with weak legs, if you are an expert runner and leaper imagine what you could do with the power of another leg?

Guarded Short Sword: This unimpressive short sword sheathes the wielder’s arm in flexible armor when in danger. In moments of true danger, the armor can be expanded to offer greater protection by channeling their entire focus through the blade.

Sylvan Cloak: This roughspun green woolen cloak subtly pushes the eyes of others to slip away from the wearer. The cloak cannot claim to make the wearer invisible, but it can be the edge a person needs to slip past watchful eyes unnoticed.

Runed Bones: The bones of a mage still carry power, if you know how to use it. These rune carved bones were exhumed from a mages tomb and prepared to channel the vestiges of necromantic power once used by the mage. Plunging these bones into the ground summons a handful of mindless skeleton warriors that will attack any living creature nearby.

Here is a smattering of the types of items I give to my players. Often they are sort of off the cuff additions to the normal loot one would find on an adventure. I am particularly fond of the ruined bones. Mostly because they give me the chance to have Harryhausen skeleton warriors pop up out of the ground and mess stuff up.

Next week I will continue the items from Four Swords with my take on the boomerang. The theme for that set was pieces and colors, so watch out for colorful pieces in the drawings to come.

This summer has been crazy hot because climate change is a real threat that is poised to fundamentally change the world we live in. If you want to keep living in this world, ask your government at every level to prioritize positive green changes and legislation that will force the greatest polluters to help turn this ship back from disaster.

Be excellent to everyone.
